Timeline

  • 1863 A SHINING START
Few contemporary jewellery brands can boast of such a rich heritage and history as the House of Jaipur Jewels. Founded in 1863 in the region of Multan (which is now located in Pakistan) the jeweller grew from strength to strength with the passage of time. Jaipur Jewels owes its genesis to the legendary visionary Roopchand Naheta. The House is born in and takes shape in Kala Mandi, in what is popularly today known as the City of Saints. Its creations quickly gain fame and recognition for their unique designs, exquisite cuts and intricate craftsmanship.
  • 1893 ROYAL AFFAIR
The family serves royalty from 1893 to 1904. Of particular prominence amongst the House’s regal patrons is His Highness, The Khan of Kalat, Mir Mahmood Khan Baloch, Balochistan. The swiftly maturing brand caters to regal sensibilities with its perceptive designs and impresses them with its respect for commitment and dedication.
  • 1904 GLITTERING LANDMARK
Just short of its completion of 40 years, the House adds another feather to its cap when it is officially appointed jewellers to General Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi, the Nawab of Bhavalpur. This significant landmark gives their creativity – and their designs – further recognition and reinforces their position as jewellers of repute who effortlessly transform jewels into impeccable pieces of art.
  • 1930 MOVING ON…AND AHEAD
Inspired by years of crafting handmade jewellery – and taking a leaf from Jaipur Jewels’ founder’s achievements, his scion Shambunath Naheta successfully takes on the task of carrying the legacy ahead. And soon after, as pages of history are being re-written in the sub-continent, the family leaves their hometown to find a new base in India. Jaipur becomes their destination of choice and soon there is no looking back.
  • 1966 THE BIRTH OF A BRAND
Soon it is time for the Generation Next to step up to shoulder family traditions. Taking great pride in the trading skills and delicate craftsmanship that the house is known for, Milapchand Naheta carries forward the century-old family legacy of crafting exquisite jewellery. And in 1966, along with his son Subhash Naheta, he formally establishes the brand. They christen it Jaipur Jewels – a name that soon becomes synonymous with lifetimes of crafting exclusive jadau jewellery and loose stones.
  • 1979 A TALE OF TWO CITIES
In 1979, Mumbai beckoned. With the opening of the brand’s first boutique in the heart of the country’s financial capital, Jaipur Jewels entrenches itself at one of the most prestigious and tony addresses in Mumbai – Nepean Sea Road. Soon after the turn of the century, after continuing to create masterpieces for the crème de la crème and the style cognoscenti, 2014 sees Jaipur Jewels step into the political capital of India.
  • 2014 WINDS OF CHANGE
Embracing the new and the contemporary, Jaipur Jewels goes for a complete makeover. Winds of change begin to blow as Vineet Naheta and Amit Naheta take charge of the business and bring in an infusion of new ideas and their vision for the future. The Gen Next scions step up to the exciting challenge of taking the brand to greater heights and of shaping its destiny in the times to come with invigorating designs, refreshing outlooks and a completely new re-branding of the traditional house.
  • 2014 MAKE TIME STOP
To commemorate the reinvention of the brand, Jaipur Jewels launches its first campaign Make Time Stop. The newly-minted campaign embodies the essential philosophy of the brand: “If a moment can last a lifetime, then imagine a lifetime of heritage, held in a moment. Imagine pure insight, handcrafted with skilled wisdom, set in beauty. Captured in every piece of our jewellery is a moment so enlightened that it makes time stop”.  Make Time Stop, a landmark in the brand’s glittering history marks the simultaneous launch of an eye-catching campaign and a bespoke collection. The four exclusive limited edition pieces are showcased at an elegant evening in Mumbai, where Padma Bhushan, Shri Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia works his mellifluous magic on the flute, taking the evening a notch higher. Actress Chitrangada Singh adds her beauteous charm to the occasion, giving an added shine to the jewels with her elegant grace.
  • 2015 RISE ANEW
Looking forward to a shining future, Jaipur Jewels unfurls its brand essentials in its new campaign Rise Anew. Believing that you have to go back to the past to shape the future, the house seeks new treasures in old stories. The rebirth of grandeur is seen when one era blends seamlessly with the next, weaving its magic into the present. With the Rise Anew collection, Jaipur Jewels’ first brand video featuring Waluscha De Sousa is unveiled. (View here).
